GOTTLIEB HOUSE

Victoria, 1990

The intention with this building was to explore an arrangement of form, the geometry of each form and the resultant interaction of the whole, set against a typically featureless residential area. In using a monochromatic palette, the basic materials and texture subtly support and emphasise the composition. Each geometric part is articulated by glazed space and collision of different volumes and connected three dimensionally through voids. The building is introspective presents nothing of its internal life to the street, taking advantage of landscaped residual space for aspect and light.
