Wood/Marsh Pty Ltd Architecture

Victoria, 2003

Two important existing site features directed the development of this project. Firstly the flame tree located to the eastern corner and secondly the existing older building. The new building is free-standing and located centrally between both. It is designed as a clear, modern building, distinct from it's surrounds. The facade of folded copper sheets are articulated and orientated in the direction of the sloped wall planes. Fenestration is detailed to match the copper panels and therefore further the planar quality of the facade. The third storey is set back from boundaries and looks directly onto the flame tree.
